What was your Phoenix bargain?

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

A Sabre Defence AR15 mag for a tenner from BNZ and the thousand rounds of .223 62gr from Bold Action were very keenly priced however bargain of the day has to be the 232 shot once Remington .223 cases for a tenner from SGC, yup that is Southern Gun Company, a big bag of brass for a tenner.

Sadly, nowt.......

Anything that grabbed my fancy, I found way, way to expensive. Except the Dutch guy with the gun bags. Got a couple of ammo bags from him. Oh, and traded some .45 Colt cases with saddler. And, had some stotties sent down from Jeff (who I still owe money to....) And, I have to email Mrs Dromia as she has some more Boresnakes at home and they were a bargain!

Actually, not too bad when I look back......... but the guns were far too expensive!! Did anyone see the massively over inflated AR, on the veranda, with the bloke who had a load of deacts? I have a funny story about that one.....

Perhaps I was just especially grumpy because of the arm. BTW, if I was rude or offish with anyone, I sincerly apologise...... I did manage to throw several swear words at probably the biggest bloke in Bisley that day (6'6" - 6'8", and over 20 stone, when he bumped into my arm......)
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Dutch guy's name is Lean and company is Bold Action, really nice chap and I think he sells good stuff for ok prices. He had his boss with him this time, didn't at Newark.

Best bargain for me was the knife I fell in love with, it was awesome, I said I was just going to think about it and when I decided I wanted it and went back for it, it was gone. sign01
Looked it up on the internet this morning and it was SUCH A BARGAIN at Phoenix that I am still kicking myself.

Ouch. I know its crowded but it does seem fairly common to not give a toss about bumping people around in there! I had smallest daughter with me and we nearly had to give up on the Pavilion at one point as she was getting knocked around so much. Particular full marks to the goit that actually knocked her on her ar*e, looked down, then carried on without a word. C'est la vie. I have to say, if we wanted an event to get youngsters interested in shooting, the Phoenix isn't it..

Glad to oblige.

I was going to buy a couple of cases from Bold Action but just never got a chance to get back. So, it will be Ruger 10 shot mags for £16 each and that was from Midway UK! Who by the way are still using an old fashioned machine for imprinting credit cards.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

I got a long gun slip from the Dutch guy for £21, he didn't look impressed when I asked to use a credit card though.

Paid £47 for 100 .357 Magtech, not sure that was much of a bargain though.
Careful now/that sort of thing
