Very impressed with the QL prediction will put it on the crimbo list. After setting elevation at 600 I had 35 MOA left on the scope. Looks like I will have about 50 MOA of elevation left when I get a proper 100m zero.

Thank for the temp warning had not fully factored that in I will check loads on a warm day if we ever get one

I believe that there is an ambient temperature function on the latest version.

The ability to change the temperature was available from quite early on, click the icon to the left of the powder drop down field and bottom left a new thermometer icon appears, click on this and enter the temperature in degrees F, when you change or toggle the powder the temperature and other changes are lost.

QL has a lot of features and I am sure I am missing out on things, we should have a QL tips thread somewhere for people new to the application.

Hi there, as it happens I was out with the 308 the other day doing some load development. I was testing Varget with Scenar bullets seated 15 thou from lands, Lapua case, Fed 210 primer. Rifle was a Sako TRG, 26" barrel in 308win testing 45 to 46.5 grains in powder charge.

45 = 2789fps ES of 20

45.3 = 2824fps ES of 50

45.6 = 2850 ES of 6

45.9 = 2874fps ES of 50

46.2 = 2879fps ES of 13

46.5 = 2872 ES of 20

Coincidentally, none of the loads shot well but I hope you can find some useful information from this.

Many thanks, Paul.

ES is Extreme Spread, or the extremes of muzzle velocity across a given number of shots when measured with a Chronograph. Oddly enough low ES's do not always mean better accuracy than high ES's.
