.30-06 cases easily convert to 8x57 if you have any trouble finding decent cases for reloading.

Just curious, as I don't shoot either, do you run the 30-06 through an 8x57 FL die first and then trim?

Yup, I annealed first then run it through the 8x57 die, then trimmed.
