I am struggling to find any information though.

Does any one know anything about P. Poulsen?
Thanks

Open sights, it's chambered in a slightly shorter (approx 2mm) case than a .45-70 Government. The rifle is capable of, and has recently been fired. The cases are stamped .45-70ovenpaa wrote:Got it, they are/were Danish built hunting rifles that look to be based on the Mauser action. Does yours say Copenhagen or Kobenhavn on the receiver?
It's a break barrel with a forward facing under lever. Kobenhavn
EDIT - Two triggers maybe? Poulsen rifles go back to the 1900's so probably fitted with a Schultz and Larsen barrel unless it is a very early rifle. S&L were the number one Danish barrel maker and were based at Otterup.
Single trigger
Has it got early German glass on it or open sights and what is it chambered in?
