Help the Dutch

#1 Post by Tower75 »

Sorry if this has been brought up, but.

The Dutch government is looking to ban one of their shooting disciplines. Same old story. There's been a shooting, thus the gun and discipline are to blame, not the evil **** that did the murdering.

No, it doesn't "effect" us, but it effects shooting, people.

Here's the site and link to the e-petition

I work in the Netherlands a lot and are based in Alphen when I am there.

The Dutch are a great bunch of people and are always accomodating when I have time to shoot when there.

Yet again it is one person who is going to ruin our sport. Please sign the petiton and hopefully their Governement will leave Holland as it is, A free and liberal country that I always enjoy visiting.

About 8 Dutch shooters are attending the Easter Meeting (thanks to Surrey Police, Heather Webb and Iain Robertson for their part in accelerating the solution to the lost permit problem). The Dutch have been huge supporters of British shooting meetings, and I take every opportunity to return that support. I was devastated to learn that the Dutch Open fullbore championship hasn't been held since I went to shoot it for my honeymoon (with the best man), so thanks to 'military requirements' and policy I am still the TR champion. I was hoping to return to have a crack at it again, not to defend it, and there's no indication that I'll even be able to do that.
