AR15
Hi all
What a great day to be on the range with the AR15 ! Having problems getting a good cheek weld and eye relief which I didnt seem to have an issue with last year . Today I had to take the specs off to get a decent sight picture but found the ear muff was pushed up against the stock and slightly lifting it , This was shooting in a shallow fox hole leaning forward , but in the prone position everything seems fine , feels like I need a longer stock with a butt plate that is adjustable up and down , is there such a thing out there for an AR15 ?
Any ideas or advice welcome .
Did have some fun shooting the BSA in .22 Rem Jet as I managed to knock down the 300 yd ETR its only zeroed at 25 yds so just aimed 2' high .

Re: AR15
Proper moulded ear plugs
Stops the problem of ear muffs riding up.

Re: AR15
The .22 Rem Jet sounds to be a very handy round. Hope the weather was good for you despite the issues, we have glorious weather here, 15C in the shade, far too good to be inside, lets hope the weather holds out for the next few days.

This is the second time now Ive not felt comfy with the set up after making changes .
So, why change things.......?

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Believe it or not I got mine from Specsavers!! - took about 10 days to be made (after being molded to my ear). Great value, wish I had got the string between them now, you can get them is different colours too!!Dave 101 wrote:Good idea [ plugs ] will have to get that sorted out ,
As you described it spud with a bipod ,

Nah Mike, don't worry about the string. I have a pair with and a pair without. The "withs" don't get used any more. The string continually gets in the way and any rubbing on the string from anything, transmits that noise staight into your ear, amplified!
Got to admit, after my last hearing test, I now wear plugs AND electronic muffs. Off the firing point, I still wear the muffs.....

First time I was trying a different scope so I have changed back , also I think its a bit of an age thing where I cant seem to bend the way I used to , thats why I am happy benching my .22s these days , but I still want to get out with the FB from time to time .Sim G wrote:Dave 101 wrote:
