I was having the same problem with 'budget' bullets in my .303, as the bullet tips varied in length. I got the Hornaday comparitor that fits to calipers, and Ovenpaa kindly made me a .311 insert for it - so now measuring from the ogive, it is much more consistant :good:

which, when used consistently, gives good data

Sorry to be a pain guys, Is there any place in the UK I can get one of theses which suits both my 308s and my 223 (224). I found them on Brownell but from the states,I am sure I could get one her from somewhere
