I wouln't just limit myself to one optics manfacturer " Nightforce".

I would look at Sightron , Leupold and IOR scopes too

I did, my results were:

Sightron - pretty decent, looked at two right next to my existing Nightforce, preferred the Nightforce. But there's nothing wrong with them.

Leupold - Assuming VX3. Eye relief change with magnification can be a ballache, not as robust as Nightforce, not Nightforce's equal optically either, but not very far behind at all. Significantly cheaper and if you can live with the eye relief thing, not a bad choice.

IOR - I'd love one. Where can I buy the bloody things now Border Barrels don't do one?!

I have recently bought a second hand NXS and am very pleased with it. I agree with DM about the side parallax adjustment being easier to use, the optics are superb but it is a bit on the heavy side if you are going to have to carry it any length of time. I have mine on a 308 and it goes to a 1000 yards with ease. I have had a look at a Sightron and whether it was just that one in particular but I wasnt overly impressed with the optics, I think the Nightforce is better.
Hope this helps, let us know what you get.
I enjoy my shooting but usually get a better group with the empty cases !!!!

The front parallax adjustment on my BR is not a real problem as I know what distance i am shooting at and it is mostly set to infinity anyway. I also have a feeling it is slightly lighter than the NXS

I am guessing that as the dollar has not dived compared to the pound and that Nightforce continues to be a leading brand that the models that are being discounted are from the last generation.
I can not remember if it was in 2011 or before, that Nightforce introduced the last round of upgrades, the only one that I can think of at the moment is the zero stop function.

Clearly down to you, I think I would be looking for a better deal myself, but at the end of the day they are still quality scopes.

It was only 2-3 years back that they were all this price, they jumped up much to the benefit of people selling section hand models who ere selling their used scopes for as much as they bought them for,

Zero stop is more, the new feature is the fast turret so you do 20 MOA in one turn. Not worth it for me though.
