i totally agree with ure review sim g, the gsg5 is nothing more than a fun gun,and does feel like a toy. im suprised about the hv ammo as york guns have had so many returned broken due to hv ammo. and ure right u paid far too much!!

It's strange that, because HV ammo is what they are designed for. It's stated in the manual and even on the side of the gun is stamped ".22lr HV". I suspect that those returned have been because of negligence on behalf of owners in regards to proper maintenance.

Now my 10/22, that's what I really spent far too much money on!!! :o
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Asked Valmont firearms whether there long barrel pistol was on a frame designated for that purpose as i have been led to believe if it was originally destined to be for a normal barrel pistol the new gun could be considered section 5 with the possibility of them being confiscated .
i asked this on their face book page and it was deleted with a sugestion i e mailed the question ,i did and im still waiting .

so whats you guys take on the whole thing ...

I like them both,i hate the buckmarks but thank god for them and alan westlake paving the way for us to even have them.

As for section 5,well they are over 61cm (i think thats right) so they are legal,as to weather they are "in the spirit of the law" is another questio.

If you think about it pistols or at least hand held dischargeable firearms are still with us,after all anyone could saw up an a.i. or dt10 or a mk4 or a 10/22 and you would have a easily concealable hand held firearm.

Hell when we take the action out of our stocks to clean a 10/22 or similar it becomes section 5 untill youve cleaned it and put it back together.

Im going to continue to shoot my lbp untill such time as they are taken away and the nra stays quiet again........

Hope you are not looking for effective common sense gun law in this country?

It's all decided by pressure groups and 'old ladies' who have never picked up a gun, let alone shot one.

And that is exactly right!

We reviewed the GSG/TSC 1911 in last month's Target Shooter. (October)

It's great fun to shoot but it's no target pistol - in it's present form. However, a reader has sent me a nice little 'tune-up' device which should make it as accurate as any other semi-auto pistol.

We'll do a report on it in December's magazine.

I purchased the TSC 1911 long barrelled pistol very recently, still running it in however I noted someone that posted, was saying how bad and overpriced it is, yes overpriced because we live in the UK nothing is cheap, however you compared the 1911 with the S&W 15-22 as far as I know the latter is a rifle not a pistol. When mine is run in I will change the factory brushing with one of the match one's available (cannot understand why the better is not fitted at source, other than more money to pay out) but at the moment I'm hitting a 3 inch group at 25M, bench rested as need more practice since 1997, not quite where I aim but that is down to adjustment.
Will post more info when I've had pistol longer. :P
