Imperial Meeting
Now that Christmas has passed, thoughts may be turning to summer holidays. Have you considered spending part (or all) of your holiday enjoying shooting and socialising at Bisley?

The NRA will be holding the world-famous Imperial Meeting at Bisley from 27 June through to 21 July. The Meeting is probably the largest, and certainly the most varied, target shooting festival in the world with events for Civilian Service Rifle, Service Rifle, Pistol and Gallery Rifle, Schools and Cadets, McQueen, Sporting Rifle, Match Rifle, Target Rifle and F Class. Staging the Meeting is a major part of the NRA’s delivery of its Charter objective to encourage marksmanship. As a Member, the Association would very much like to see you at the Meeting shooting in any of the many NRA disciplines. We do understand that many of you who have not been to the Meeting before may find participating a daunting prospect. The NRA staff are happy to help you with any aspect of participation that you are unsure about.

For questions about entries, squadding, event timings, payment and discipline-specific matters other than Target Rifle, please contact Karen Robertson, who will redirect you to the correct specialist in the unlikely event that she does not know the answer herself, by e-mailing karen@nra.org.uk or telephoning 01483 797777 ext 146.

For questions about licensing, firearms, ammunition and any Target Rifle matters, please contact Iain Robertson iain.robertson@nra.org.uk or by telephoning 01483 797777 ext 154.

For accommodation at Bisley please contact Amanda Vaughan accommodation@nra.org.uk or by telephoning 01483 797777 ext 135.

We hope to see you at the Imperial Meeting this year!

Imperial Meeting Accommodation
For the last two years the NRA has hired blocks of portable accommodation from Bunkabin for use by visiting teams.

This year we are expanding the Bunkabin accommodation so that we can offer comfortable en-suite facilities to competitors during the Imperial Meeting. You can see the Bunkabin product at http://www.bunkabin.co.uk and click on Deluxe Sleeper. Each unit has its own toilet and shower as well as electric power and has a galley area with a small fridge and microwave. Each unit sleeps two and we can offer them at £55 per room per night. We will try to meet all demand, but are limited by the availability of water, power and sewage connections. If demand exceeds our capability allocation will be prioritised to those booking a complete part of the Meeting (eg Match Rifle or Target Rifle) and then on a first-come first-served basis.

Contact Amanda Vaughan to book on accommodation@nra.org.uk

County Eligibility
Several counties have recently been having trouble fielding teams in matches and are actively looking for new members. If you are a TR shooter and have not yet joined a county association and would like to, please reply to this e-mail with the counties you are eligible for and we will forward your e-mail onto the relevant county secretary or captain.

The qualification to represent a county is:

a) Birth; or county of birth of parents or grandparents;
b) Residential Parliamentary vote. Should a person have no such vote he shall be deemed to have one in the same place as his next of kin;
c) After holding a Residential Parliamentary vote in the county for 10 years a person may opt to shoot for that county even though he ceases to be resident in the county;
d) A Peer may shoot for the county in which he resides.

Vote for Mal West in the ‘Coach You’re the Best’ Competition
Anyone who takes part in sport knows the value of a good coach. How often do we listen to an athlete, swimmer or player being interviewed on TV, just after they have won an Olympic Gold medal or major championship, say "I owe it all to my coach"?

Mal West of Sevenoaks School has been nominated by his students for this award which could win £1000 of sports equipment for the school and well as much-needed publicity for the school and shooting in general.

If you would like to offer your support by voting for Mal in this competition please click on the link below.
