Recommend me a calibre ........
I have a Winchester 70 Featherweight in 22-250 with a shot out barrel. I fancy re-barelling it into something new, something a bit different . My only condition is that is has to be deer legal.
I'll get the action blue-printed, a synthetic stock and a decent trigger at the same time. I'll prob use Lee at Border Barrells.
So recommendations and why......................

Can you chamber a 6,5x55 or AI in a 22-250 action, I would have thought it was a bit short. What is the maximum OAL the magazine will take?
Re: Recommend me a calibre ........
should be ok i would have thought if not go for the 6x47
Re: Recommend me a calibre ........
Is 6x47 Deer legal? It would not be legal in DK but I have no idea over here.

7mm-08
Same action length as 308 - deer legal, etc.
OR
I'm a big fan of 6.8SPC (even have chamber reamers for it!)
