My Barnard stocked in an Eliseo B1 .308, B.A.T. .308, Anschutz .22 stocked in an Eliseo AN1, Walther .22\.32 GSP, Ruger GP 101 .357, S&W 745 .45 and sometimes.........ME!

Decent condition No.8 there! Give the breech area a thorough clean with some cotton buds dipped in Hoppe's or similar, the No.8 is awful for building up wax (bullet lube) and other crud that causes misfires. If you do look down the barrel, be aware that the rifling is tapered - so although it might look shot out, in fact it isn't! The rifle you have was built by BSA in 1949.
