...but I am looking forward to experiencing Dromia's crack  [/quote]

Is that some sort of illegal drug or a Dagenham smile :-P

We were disappointed we could not get down to see everyone. I am sure we will meet up soon, sounds like the weather was kind, did anyone enter any of the competitions?

Yes, it was good to see some forum members and pass some time chatting. Shame our two hosts couldn't make it. :(

I think a few have lighter pockets money wise ;)

Thinking about it, it will probably be next year by the time we get down there to shoot again :o

Sorry I didn't get chance to meet up with anyone...
I did wander round and see DodgyRog's store at lunchtime today, but whoever was on the store was busy talking to someone else, and I only had 5 mins to spare during lunch, so I didnt get to introduce myself :(

Worked my butt off down the butts all weekend! would have been nice to meet some of you lot!

Was a shame I missed everyone on the Saturday. I did get to meet Dromia and Dodgyrog though, which was really cool - I finally got to understand the details of chamber casting and gas checking...and got a good deal on powder and boolits - Thank you Gentlemen :good:

I shot a 'personal worst' (not sure why?) in the precision shoot - but I do enjoy shooting with strangers at the Trafaglar...you get to meet some cool people and see some interesting guns...It was great watching one guy plugging the bullseye with an old Martini Henry 8-)

Preparing to shoot:
Trafalgar 001.jpg

The Rapid was ok - I pushed one set of rounds (in a strip clip) too far into the mag, and lost a few seconds jiggling them back up, so only got 14 out of 15 away...one year I'll get it right :) . My best result was in the 'double snaps' - I'd never tried it before, and it is a lot of fun - you get 10 exposures of 5 seconds (5-7 seconds away), and have to put 2 shots on each...so have to keep topping up the mag by hand as you go...about as much fun as you can have with an SMLE :D

I though I'd post this photo, as the Lithgo looks so good in the afternoon sun (is it wrong to love a rifle :-P):
Trafalgar 007.jpg

The butt marking was good, and the RO's and volunteers were as helpful and friendly as always - It was so quiet towards the end of the day, that they let me have a go at the McQueen with the SMLE just for fun :0037:

The cannon was being fired by the cadets - I took the photo too soon ( ) - shame because it doesn't half go off
Trafalgar 006.jpg

The only bad thing, was that it was too quiet - the least competitors I've seen in the last few years; and if it carries on like that the NRA might have to condence it into 1 day, which would be a massive shame - so if you have a classic/veteran/BP rifle, and are within reasonable driving distance of Bisley, you should give it a try...it's a very relaxed, non-competitive and fun meeting :good:

Dougan I may be getting you confused with someone else but are you the chap who had a go at the mcqueen with the smle with open sights, if it was you both myself and maurice the other RO were very impressed with your performance.
