Hornady reloading handbook number 9.

#1 Post by PeterN »

I was skimming through the Hornady number 9 handbook and noticed a misprint in the load Data for the 7.5x54mm MAS. On page 393 with loads for 150 to 155 grain bullets under powder Win 760 it gives the starting load as 70.6 grains, the next load as 72.8 grains, the next load as 45 grains and the max load as 47.1 grains. The first two should, of course, be 40.6 grains and 42.8 grains. If someone was just skimming down the table for a starting load they could be in a bit of bother though the case would probably overflow if they tried to get 70.6 grains of powder in it. I assume the subsequent handbooks numbers 10 and 11 have corrected it, though I don't have those to check.
Regards
Peter.

The Lee is the worst for misprints of data, responsibly there should have been a recall.

Errata pages for past publications are available.

Their website is always worth checking for any 'Load Data' updates.
