S2 Mossberg 500 Mag Tube Cleaning

I have a Mossberg 500 with S2 mag restriction. The follower seems to get stuck at the far end of the two cartridge travel every now and again, meaning no shell gets forced out onto the lifter by the magazine spring.

Obviously I can't fettle with the tube because of the magazine restriction. Are there any tricks to cleaning any crap out of the tube before I just try adding lube in there? Would prefer not getting an RFD to remove the tube, and then having to resubmit to Proof House!

If it makes any difference it's actually a New Haven 600 by Mossberg, but I believe the mag tube area is identical.
