Anschutz 1907, what's it worth?

#1 Post by Ovenpaa »

I have been asked to sell an Anschutz 1907 and I have to admit it is a bit outside my sphere of experience as we are not a gun shop and I mostly shoot and own pre-war rifles and shotguns.

Sooooo, what is it worth? It comes with the front and rear sights and a load of other parts in a wooden case. Date code is AD so 2004 and apparently it has been fed a diet of Lapua Center-X and works very well for it.

My view is everything is good but it is a tad grubby around the corners and would benefit from a wipe over.

Thoughts anyone and not what GT is quoting, what is it realistically worth?

Very nice.

22 Series stock, nice condition, barry nesom tube, and Anschutz extender. aswell as sight raising blocks.

Looks like a very nice package.

I bought mine albeit a 1913 in the same stock without extenders some 15 years ago now and spent £1500 for it. given some for inflation and the additional equipment, I'd say the upper end of £1750-£2k would be well priced - the heavier 13 barrel is preferred, but this in itself is a great package.

That's a nice outfit - just need to find the right buyer. (Not keen on those little bipods as they chew up the accessory rail)

The stock alone would cost £1500 new. The rear sight iris would be another £100 S/H whist the foresight adjustable iris is another £100 S/H.
The extension tube £150 S/H, with the hammer shark extension rail £130 S/H and that's all without the barrel and action.
So £1300 would be a bloody good price but it's finding a buyer in this uncertain time with the lead ban looming.

The stock is a diecast metal its really weak, drop it & the rear will snap off & there is a section design flaw just there to help that along too. Its a nightmare to weld (i did mine!) as the metal is so full of gas porosity. its not a prime example of German engineering the Precise stock fixed all that - but the Nibbs Gemini was always a better design & quality of manufacture.

Bits :
Stock & butt plate £500-£700, used barrel in a good action £300-400, rear sight £75-£100, rearsight iris £80, bloop tube on the front £75-100, extra thing to go in the bloop tube £75, adjustable foresight £60-£90, (mine cost £60) case £20 ...... so £1500-£1800 all up - I have bought a few anschutz in my time.

But there seems to be more folks giving up small-bore shooting atm than joining in! so prices vs market are low, but most think that becuse they paid £3k for it 3y ago its still worth 80% of that - just not true. So it could fail to get much attention till say £1200, best to advertise it on the Stirton forum.
Quality control of Scottish Ethanol. & RDX/HMX

& my fav chemical is :-) 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine.......... used to kill frogs.... but widely consumed & in vast quantities by the French? Eh?

You could probably get £600-700 for the 2213 stock alone. Add another £350'ish for the action and it'll be close to £1k. Maybe £800 for a quick sale.

There is a Gemini available as well.
