If its the Vortex Viper you are referring to they are cracking scopes. You really can not go wrong with Vortex. I have one on my Ruger Precision its spot on.

The instruction book says it is a Chinese made Optisan Viper series scope.

We had a couple of these, but they had "Made in the Phillipines" on the box and paperwork......pretty good scopes for the money, though, sharp and contrasty.

Lifetime warranty, too.

Vortex is a scope name. Optisan is a scope name. Don't confuse the two just because they both have a 'Viper' in their range.

So what does anyone know about the Chinese made Optisan Viper 6-24 x 56 with illuminated reticle scope?

I've put in on my Voere .22 semi auto the day and it was popping the 2" Firebird targets at 120 yards with aplomb.

Clear scope with good image even when shooting into the low winter sun, useful reticle too.

My son has the Optisan Viper on his 223 and shoots quite well with it at 200 yards considering he is registered blind.

Didn't I sell you that scope Sam?? I know I had one at some point.

MTC viper is a very good scope for the money. Intended for the air gun market originally I think. Came with mounts and sun shade and flip covers too. Might have even had a big wheel for parallax and a fancy reticule.
