I was thinking of buying some more primers so I have looked at a few dealer's web sites for prices. I almost fell off my chair. One dealer had CCI large rifle at £48 ish a thousand a few weeks ago and now list them at £82 ish a thousand. Henry Krank have gone from £55 ish to £99 for CCI large rifle. Their MK primers have gone from £42 to £55. I still have a couple of thousand to be going on with, but I feel like I need a lie down now.
Regards
Peter.

Re: Primer prices
Shop around and when you find some at a decent price buy as many as you can.

Re: Primer prices
The last time I purchased primers I stocked up with 20K.
I've still got a couple of boxes of Remington 7 1/2 and 9 1/2 with £19.00 price labels and I cannot remember how old they may be.
Sadly, there are many opportunists and grifters out there so shop around.

Re: Primer prices
I’ve just had an email from Kranks with their new trade price list & was surprised but not shocked at the price increases. As you say cci, Remington, federal etc are £99/1000 their own brand are £55/1000, these are fine in anything but federal are still the chosen primer for a tuned action.
When I said I was surprised but not shocked, I’ve been watching some USA pricing, some states but not all are more expensive than others $150-$180 per 1000 with some restrictions on numbers purchased. Whatever prices they are now, this will not go down as our market does not fluctuate as the American market does.

Re: Primer prices
You mean like the customer who said he would take all of the SR and LR primers we had in stock because we still had them marked at 2019 prices? the opportunists are every part the customers as much as the dealers, which is why I mostly prefer we only sell our own products. Even then I have some specials I built that were never paid for. Treat the dealer like s*** and people will eventually get s*** back.lapua338 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 11:39 pm The last time I purchased primers I stocked up with 20K.
