Barrel adaptor for moderator for Umarex/HK MP5

#1 Post by Daryll »

Hi all.. those of you that have the Umarex/HK MP5... has anyone tried the barrel adaptors like these:
https://www.daileisure.co.uk/Moderator- ... 6-half-UNF

One advert I found somewhere else mentioned the MP5, but to be honest I've no idea if/how they would fit.

I'd love to moderate the MP5, but I'm not sure theres an easy way..?

Any ideas..??

TIA

Daryll.

The adapter linked is for the AR rifles they made, not the MP5 (any version).

The only way to get a moderator on is to have the fake muzzle brake machined/threaded. At least two people on here have done it and there is a thread somewhere showing it.

I wanted to get a spare fake muzzle brake before attempting it myself in case A it went wrong and B so I could switch back if I wanted to. Sadly despite the my and 3 RFD's best efforts the UK importer and even the Walther factory couldn't grasp what I was after, even after sending photos and detailed descriptions. Where the UK only fake muzzle brakes came from is still a mystery. Given that the guns are now no longer in production, aside from having your own made (£££), it would now be an impossible task.

There's an active Facebook group called Swift Precision Rifles which had posts by a Richard Pope yesterday. IIRC i think the cost was between £100-150

Missed the editing window. The guys contact details are in the thread I linked and the cost back then was only £50!

I modified a standard 'flash hider' to fit a Wildcat moderator to the MP5. Works well and looks good.
I'll dig out some pics if you're interested

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.
