a bit of advice please

#1 Post by Convict_keeper »

Hi Folks,

just wondering if someone out there could tell me when you sell a firearm and you send notification that you no longer have it to your police force, do you need to send off your certificate to get it removed?

Thanks in advance

You advise the Police by registered post or recorded delivery within 7 days and write it on Table 1 of buyers FAC.

You do not send in your FAC.

If you want a replacement variation you send your FAC to your licensing force within 7 days requesting a one for one variation.
You advise the sale of the weapon to the recipients licensing force.
You don't write on your own certificate.
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.

No.

And it's your Police Authority you advise of the sale.

You do not send in your FAC.
You can inform them by email now, no need to use registered post or recorded delivery.

If you don't send in your Cert then it will still show your slot as full as you don't record.the sale on your ticket.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Just read the back page of your FAC...and if they say your Email didn't arrive you are stuffed.

Thats what I was thinking, so in your opinion should I send in my Cert with notification?

I'm not sure whether all forces accept email notifications do they (mine does)? Even so, to be on the safe side I always ask them to acknowledge receipt of the email and on the one occasion they didn't I sent it in by post to be certain.
