Hello
Only just posted, so will wait, before making any decisions to split up the sale.
Scope and mount with rifle because no rear sight.

He might do better to replace the rear sight with a Singer ladder and sell all the scopes he has (including those on the under lever rifles).Mauserbill wrote:Hello

separately for a bit more cash.
I was hoping the Lee Enfield would fetch more cash ... I'm just trying to evaluate the value of my own collection. :)

Hello
Scopes on the rifles to make the sales a more attractive proposition.
These are excellent scopes and mounts making the combinations excellent value.

Re: Lee Enfield No4 for sale
I think you are missing the point in all my years of shooting they are some of the ugliest rifles I have seen. I would not give any of them house room. lee Enfields don't come with scopes and neither do underlever rifles.
Just my opinion but if you took the scopes off and fitted the original sights you would have a better chance of selling them. Just my opinion not trying to upset anybody. The Enfield is a very nice rifle and a really good price but the scope and mount make it a no no.

The new owner will have the job of sorting the sights out.
Returning them to 'standard' makes them more attractive buys.
I have a Lee Enfield SMLE, and the standard sights are excellent.
And of course, they are in the historical spirit of the rifle.
But each to their own, of course!
