Had a bit of time on my hands a few weeks back and decided to make the MKII version of my shooting/cleaning rest so I set to work with a bit of scrap pallet woodand some ply and here's the result.......
The rear rest folds flat so a bean bag rest can be used if required.I finished it with a few coats of shellac (as I had some already mixed) and I have added some steel plates to the underside to give a bit more weight, although it can be secured to a shooting bench by using a small ratchet strap that runs through a slot on the underside.A bit of foam rubber on the underside of it finished it off and added a bit of slip resistance.
Total cost was £2 as I had to buy a hinge and a latch for the rear rest, everything else I had knocking around

Stencil a Hammer & Sickle on there and it will be complete!
Cheers mate, That's the look I wanted to achieve, what with the laminated wood.I did consider stenciling the markings found on a 54r crate onto it as I have a Cyrillic stencil sheet somewhere.
