It should also be noted that PCSO numbers have been cut by two thirds from 2010, whilst controversial for some they formed a major part of community policing teams. They were useful to give a presence on the streets to deal with low level anti social behaviour and youth crime allowing actual officers to be more smartly used. They would also act as eyes and ears on the street feeding useful information back to be acted on.

There has been large cuts in office staff as well so there isn't the people available to process and act upon this useful human intelligence. Basically from 2010 on the Police across the country have been hollowed out at every level!

Any news on this?

Incidentally I've just noticed Fedaykin's signature - a friend has just lent me Zadoz, can't wait!

No updates from the Home Office or Government as yet. They have plenty on their plate at the moment.

OK thanks... I'm tempted to buy a 9LR and be damned the consultation. Grandfather rights or compensation are good for me.

"26. Dunblane was a paradigm for the failure of the UK licensing system. What did it achieve to have recorded the serial number of every gun and every last round of ammunition purchased by Thomas Hamilton, when the man himself was the danger? "

So give or take there are 3 months left until the summer recess... do we think they will make a decision before then?
