Lever Action Sights

Re: Lever Action Sights
I already have Knobloch shooting glasses which I've used for many years. They give me a clear view of the target and I have no problem at all with aperture sights on .22, .308 and .44-40. It's just notch rear sights I can't cope with.
Currently I'm coming down in favour of the Skinner ones...

Yes, worn them for 20 years - but I don't find them much use for shooting unless you like bobbing your head up and downRalph wrote:Veri focal take some getting used to but once you do are a wonderful thing.

I don't have a problem at all with them with any sights but I don't move
my head just let the mk 1 eyeball sort it out, with bifocals I had the
problems you describe, happen I am lucky.

Yes, there is easily enough adjustment to go from 25 - 50 yards.sclg wrote:Do you get enough elevation adjustment with the Skinner to cope with both 25 and 50 yds??

My problem with bifocals as well, but, at the moment, I can just about still use the standard sights on my 1873 Uberti.sclg wrote:Yes, worn them for 20 years - but I don't find them much use for shooting unless you like bobbing your head up and downRalph wrote:Veri focal take some getting used to but once you do are a wonderful thing.

I don't know if it helps, but with both varifocals and bifocals you can get the heights at which the focus changes set to a way that suits you.
My mother used to teach music and had to get them set in a non-standard way to be able to see both sheet music on a stand and the students, so it is worth talking to the opticians about where in the lens diferent distances are in focus for you.
