So shoot me - ashes in cartriges!

I wanted to be cremated and in some fashion, have my ashes tossed into a river or spread through the woods.

My friend smiled and said "You know I've thought about this for some time and I want to be cremated. Then I want my ashes put into some turkey load shotgun shells and have someone that knows how to turkey hunt use the shotgun shells with my ashes to shoot a turkey. That way I will rest in peace knowing that the last thing that one turkey will see is me, screaming at him at about 900 feet per second."

I suppose it beats taking the lid off the urn and emptying it out of a car window at speed...

I certainly would like much the same but at clays and at my favourite shooting ground. Now, there's a subject for a new thread.......................................

There was a place on the television a while back that would load your ashes into a shell and fire it out to sea from some sort of naval gun. That appealed to me...

I love fireworks, so I asked my missus to arrange to have my mortal remains dyed red, and packed into a massive rocket. I want to be launched from my Dad's top pasture, to sky burst over the valley. Shame I won't see it!

But you will be there in spirit and it means you go out with a bang. A good idea.

One of my old Sealed Knot friends told me about one of the members of a gun crew who passed away a couple of years ago. After his cremated remains were returned to his family, they took them to a battle. They left the cannon on the field at the end and then loaded him up and spread him across the field. :good: What a great way to be remembered.

A friend of mine did this for a friend who died. He said the trigger was a bit stiff.
