Just bear in mind it is hygroscopic and pressures will grow if it gets slightly damp

A lot of folk on the gr comp circuit use gm3.....in fact it turns up by the ton and then gets evenly distributed amongst the guys.....it's a green powder and measures well like bullseye....and it's cheap as chip! So no wonder it's popular...

An alternative that we are testing is Maxam csb5.
We have used a mountain of Vectan AS but availability/price is now dire.
I didn't know GM3 was still available at a decent price.
The Maxam you can get from here: http://www.claygame.co.uk/maxam-csb5-powder-pd18
Or Folkestone engineering.
There is loading data on Maxam`s website.

Any known proven loads for CSB-5 in the 44?, there's good reports using CSB-1 on the S&W forum but I can't see anyone selling it in the UK.

Just bought some GM3 at the Shooting Show yesterday so I can start reloading predominately .38 special for 25 yard indoor. What loads were you using for 158gm RNFP please?

Load Data

Bought my reloading gear last week at the shooting show and the powder I got is Vectan GM3. This is not listed in my Lee handbook.

Was wondering if people had experience of it and what they would recommend for a 158gm bullet in .38 Special case. Chap I bought it off reckoned 3.8 grains of powder.

Search for GM3
Or look through this section backwards about 10 days or so
