Cardboard box of rounds on ground as well, so looking like mil/Govt supply chain of some sort...??

Fair play. I didn't know, or claim to know, Tried looking it up shortly after posting, but couldn't find much on them using SMLE's at all, nevermind the calibre...

Federal and Hornaday both still produce factory .303 so maybe it comes from them.
