Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.
If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Re: UK Biltong
I love biltong. Have been a fan for a few years. A South African chap at work got me hooked on it. These guys below deliver and the quality is amazing. I much prefer the soft biltong as it tends to last a bit longer.
Highly recommend the garlic biltong. My husband does seem to like me eating that one though!
Also recommend their droewors.

Re: UK Biltong
I started making my own,
Bought a dehydrator and the stuff I made is better than anything I've bought, must dig it out and start it up again.
Looked on that link above the chillie bites looked good. £22 for 35g

Get yourself a food dehydrator (many on either Amazon or ebaY) and look for recipes on Google.kyzer236 wrote:I'd love to make my own biltong. Any tips on what kit to get?

Re: UK Biltong
A south african bloke I worked with once gave me some biltong. It was terrible stuff and could not be chewed down enough to swallow, like shoe leather it was.
He also brought me some chewing tobacco that looked like a pigs dick, that outdid the biltongs terribleness no end!
Then one day he discovered tripe and brought some in for me to try seeing as I'd evaded that all my life even though members of my family lived off it. You could hear the wretching in Sheffield and I was in Leeds!
