Starting again with new powder - Viht 540 and new primers - CCI BR's
Looking at the Viht load sheets they have no info re the Berger 155.5's and a quick internet search has not thrown anything up.
Has anyone got any thoughts on lower and upper measures?
For 155 gn HPBT Sierra's they have start weight of 37.9 grains to 45.1
155 gn ScenarSJ Lapua start 40.7 to 47.1
I will be doing two lots of test rounds, touching lands and not touching,

I think you'd be wasting powder and bullets by start very low down, on the basis your going to be needing circa 3000fps to get out to 1000 yards I'd be looking to start at around 44 and go from there chrono the loads checking for pressure signs.
If anyone has a newer version of quick load than mine they can probably assist.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

I would probably start closer to 46/N540 with a .012" jump and go up in .3 grain jumps at 200/300 yards and see what a ladder development looks like.

They're a superb bullet, as 155's go. I’ve only used them twice and both times brought back gold medals (from the Commonwealth Championships 300 meter events). Since then I've reverted to using Sierras at less than half the price. I know the Bergers have been used by several GB TR teams to great effect too. My ammo was specifically downloaded for 300 meters, so the load info wouldn't be much use to you, besides which I wouldn't dream of using high energy powders for light .308 bullets. Good luck with them, and remember to enjoy every squeeze of the trigger at that price!
