Scrap metals - prices!!!
I found today that scrap metal prices are through the roof today - £90 for 50kg of lead flashing ffs - it was 80p per kg up til recently.
If you have brass to weigh in - my advice is to get it in asap.

This is good to know, I just renovated and have been keeping all of the brass/steel/iron away from the "tatters" so I could weigh it in myself. Might have to be sooner rather than later...!

I've a licence to weigh metals in but assumed they wouldn't take brass cartridges due to possible live primers etc. Have none of you had any issues weighing in empty shell cases?

No. I have taken several loads over the past few years from the club's scrap bucket and I have always checked each one. Boring, but does turn up the odd live round now and thenArcofZen wrote:I've a licence to weigh metals in but assumed they wouldn't take brass cartridges due to possible live primers etc. Have none of you had any issues weighing in empty shell cases?

I just tell them it's all been checked and they seem happy enough
