Bren gun
Now here is a hypothetical question, after browsing C G firearms website I noticed they have parts built Brens, now as these are built from parts could they in theory be built with a newly manufactured barrel and modified bolt carrier i.e. A hollow or cut off piston to conform with section 1 in a similar way that the L1A1 SLR's have been.
Please discuss or tell me I'm mad or stupid.

Re: Bren gun
Why not to go full hog and make LR or MARS version???....but rather be quick...

Re: Bren gun
Yes - as long as you jumble the parts, replace the barrel, remove the piston, replace the gas plug, cut the gas tube, modify the carrier and potentially the sear, but Chris won't do it.

Yeah. Chris will not do it. He is happy selling them sec5 and does not want to risk it for sec1 possibilities.
When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns

Chris will not build straight pulls he has been asked many times over the years I have known him. Will not even take them in as trade ins if you buy a new rifle from him.

Surely someone else has access to loads of bits too ?. I don't think selling them would be a problem.

Isn't it once a section 5 part always a section 5 part?

Re: Bren gun
Suffolk rifles was asked about building straight pull Brens, he said would not be possible as they were originally full/semi auto so would not be sec1 even if you replaced everything barrel gas system etc (receiver which you would have to use was full auto so always sec5).
I think this has been a topic before.
I would have one if they ever could be made......

There are no such thing as S5 rifle parts, only complete firearms.Rockhopper wrote:Isn't it once a section 5 part always a section 5 part?
