Nice rifle I like

Can I ask why you went for the M16 style with a A2 fixed stock instead of the M4 carbine that seems to be the most popular thats seen on the range.

I have one with a A2 stock but from SGC I have changed the handguard, and removed the front sight as it's scoped now.

The A2 stock is not in the Gucci/Tacticool list of comments, but it is a very good stock which tends to fit an awful lot of body shapes and neck lengths well.

Sim you know your history, is there any real difference between an A1 and A2 stock or are they the same? Its been bothering me and I'd like to know.

I think that the A1 is 7/8 inch shorter.

He's the most interesting man in the world, He doesn't always talk about stuff he doesn't know, but when he does...... he flies through with flying colours and makes you think he knows it.

Nice looking rifle! I bet it is a great shooter with the trigger you added. Is it a 1/7 twist barrel?

I much prefer the A2 stock as well. I started with an XM16E1 when I joined the Army and ended with the M4. The M16A3 with the long butt, medium weight barrel, and optical sight is a real shooting machine. The M4 is difficult for me to shoot on the range because of the stock length but if you are a door kicker the M4 is the way to go. My son who was in Iraq called the A2 and A3 'muskets' because of the length of the arms.

Both my full length rifle and carbine have A2 stocks. Much more comfortable to shoot even though they aren't high speed tactical rigs.

The rifle has a heavy weight barrel and RRA two stage trigger. The carbine has a light weight barrel and standard single stage trigger.

That would be something! The bayonet works fine with the 14.5" M4 barrel but not so well with the civilian 16" tube.
