So some of you own some nice equipment, but does it improve your scores at the range? When you are in control of your reloading process and your ammunition is predictable, only time spent on the range will offer significant improvements.
In this instance its not about scores its about actually getting a rifle to shoot. I personally dont give a hoot about scores.
Im happy if I can knock a figure eleven down at 400 yards. I shoot so I have brass to reload. If I could not handload
(as opposed to reload) I would give it up tomorrow. I dont have access to enough ranges to get excited about scores or target shooting. But I can spend hours at the reloading bench having fun.

But what ever what do I know. Im just a dumb arse. You guys are the experts I just come here to get advice.

My own personal Moore and Wright mics have never needed tweaking... i wouldn't even question their integrity or verify them they are that reliable. I certainly wouldn't do it every day
Out, no. Fail yes. I have had a couple of 0-1"/25mm Mitutoyo micrometers that the drums have seized up on and for both it was from about halfway through the scale so they effectively became 0-12mm.

I mostly use Mitutoyo followed by M&W however I also use Mercer (Master gauging) and Interapid for some applications. A fair amount of my machining is to fine tolerances so a good standard of measurement is essential. I have no idea how much I have spent on such tools however it is worth it in my opinion.
