A accident waiting to happen primers in Acid.?
Setting fire to powder and not checking that there is a live primer in there.? Why do you need to set fire to it any way.
I have never spilled enough powder that I have needed to set fire to it to dispose of it in 30 years of re loading.
What are you guys doing.

I used the Wrong recipe and had to dismantle loads of bullets. Kinetic hammer was sending powder all over the floor every now and then.

If i don't know what the powder is or if it's full of crap. Like if i haven't cleaned the case when throwing powder, i don't want all the little flakes of carbon going back in the hopper

Powder in limited quantities can be thrown on the garden, or flared off in larger quantities (Within reason) A collet puller is by far the best way to pull bullets.

That's why I burn the odd bit of powder as well.

whats the safe way of disposing of missfired .22lr rounds then? Not sure I'd want to hit them with a hammer.

Pull the lead bullet off with a pair of pliers. Pour the powder in the garden border or down the loo. Keep the lead bullet to melt down for use for cast boolits. Chuck the brass case in the bin.

I'd pry the bullet off. Powder would get lit off. Try the case one final time in a rifle then binned with the bullet

Mine are currently sitting in a plastic container in the Armoury awaiting disposal.

As an aside I picked up many additions for my collection from a shop in East Anglia who would have ammunition handed in in turn had been told they had to hand in such things to their licensing department. The FEO used to visit every 2-3 months to take them away and always moaned so they used to give the interesting ones to me and I would break them down them with a collet puller.

I also know of a couple of places where barrels and sound moderators have to be destroyed with the FEO as a witness and only then can they be taken off the register, I just chop mine and throw the parts I do not want to hold onto in the scrap bin.
