Some of them just don't like idea of parking up and leaving guns & ammo etc in back of cars in a pub/restaurant car park, so hence eating as group before departing off site.bradaz11 wrote:is there nowhere offsite you could stop in at?

Re: Lunchtime eating at Bisley
That may well be the better course of action to take, akin to not armouring those bits of bombers that made it back from Germany full of holes...* Sometimes, things are counterintuitive. If we were a thief on the lookout for a gun, we'd break into a car on Bisley camp whilst the owners were away stuffing themselves. There's a high probability a car there will contain a firearm, and few onlookers at Bisley would think it unusual to take a firearm from a car and wander off with it.GeeRam wrote:

Transpose that to the car park at the "Dog and Duck". The chance of a car there containing a firearm are very low, and anyone seen taking one out of a car and wandering away with it will likely attract a lot of attention.
* In the 1940s the Operational Research group were tasked with studying those bombers hit by flak over Germany and recommending where they should be up-armoured in future. They defied expectations by recommending that armour only be fitted to parts of the aircraft that were represented in the sample by zero hits. Those were clearly the vitals spots, a hit in which prevented the return of the bomber....

My thoughts as well, but I'm only one of a group - and the others don't think the same way.bradaz11 wrote:exactly my thoughts badger

The one advantage of the NSRA cafe is you seldom have to wait long, and they do seem to have some healthier options available if you want it. You can always pull a few tables together.

We're thinking this is a great opportunity for one of you oomans to do some research and publish a ikkle pamphlet: The Bisley Good Grub Guide. List all the establishments that offer food, categorise them by price, quality, ambience and character. Award a V bull to any that particularly hit the mark...
