Sending red dot to Vortex USA

#1 Post by mr smith »

Has anyone sent anything back to Vortex USA under warranty, wondering the in's and out's of it.I have a sparc on my taurus lbr,the sparc has a V button on it which only takes the slightest bump when loading to switch it on and that leaves me with no dot to be seen.Soooooooo I emailed Vortex to see if the switch could be isolated disconnected whatever, they have just replied if I send them the sparc they would send me sparc 2 which has no NV button to worry.

I would suggest asking them for the correct forms, EoTech sent me some to say it was above board, I had to fill them out and send them back to customs I think, I never did, just purchased a new one after P&P & repair charges.

Or going to the UK distro.

Hi they've included a form in their email and import code to put on the package,it was really the palver involved in posting it back to the states.Dont think the UK distributor would be interested as there's not a fault as such.

If it switches itself off during normal use then it is not fit for purpose and you can return it to the shop you bought it from.

Can you not deal with Vortex here in the UK? I have the contact details if you need them and Bentley who deals with the UK side of things is a top chap.

I would doubt the UK distributor would interested as there technically is no fault with it as such just the NV button just needs the slightest touch operate it.

Give them a try, you never know. I had a nightmare with Eotech a couple of months back and eventuall tried the UK company I bought it from and they just took the sight straight away and issued a refund :good:

Surely your Sparc is covered by Vortex UK - I can't see any reason why you should have to deal with the USA.

Also bearing in mind Vortex's bomb-proof warranty policy, I'm sure the UK company or even your retailler will exchange the defective unit.

Okay guys I'll give the UK end a go emailed the US hoping for an easy way to disable the NV button.
Cheers.
