Decided to get all Blue Peter......

#1 Post by snayperskaya »

The benches on the firing point at my club range are too low for my liking so for a while I have been tooling with the idea of a height adjustable shooting stand that is nice and steady for zeroing etc and is a bit more stable than bean bag rests etc, particularly when zeroing.

I had a look about and some of these adjustable rests/stands are quite expensive so I decided to have a go at knocking my own up and I'm pleased with how it's turned out considering it's v1.0......the only thing I had to buy was the jack, which was a fiver from the local car breakers, and a can of green spray paint to spruce up the base.

The base was part of an Ikea cd rack and the rest was bits and bobs I had either knocking around the shed or what I could blag from work.I decided to get really creative and made a mini Russian ammo crate with a foam insert to hold three spare mags for the Dragunov, I may go a step further and make a lid for it for when there's no mags in residence .The stand is mainly for the Dragunov and the length between the front and rear supports is set up to suit but if I take off the removeable pads on the rear stock support a Mosin or SKS etc also fits perfectly.Anyway pictures tell a thousand words so here's a couple of the finished result....

All you need now is a small phone operated solenoid and you can shoot from home. ;)

Ah, but Fairy Liquid bottles aren't what they used to be.....the new ones are useless unlike the old white ones with the red top.

Cheers for the positive comments Tovarischi ussrflag
