The Workwear pants Aldi gets in are pretty good. Well stitched, knee pockets for pads, dozens of other pockets, really comfortable and they look like work pants rather than 'operator' pants, if that's an issue for you and they're usually £8-9.

I got a pair of vertx trousers in the US . They are very "low profile" and discret, jeans back pockets etc... They come in light or heavy heavy weight and so far the quality is holding-up nicely.
For cheap military one, the Swedish pants are super practical but unfortunatly they are camo.

Bought a pair today and they seem pretty darn good. Time will tell, but at that price if I get three months out of them it'll be worth it.

I've just picked up a pair of First Tactical BDUs. They're pricey, but very tough, stretch in the right places are incredibly comfortable and have a bucket load of pockets.

I spent a bit on 5.11 togs last year, and these are a very good lower priced alternative.
