If you spent some time with paper work you will have no problems with buying and shipping.
At first you should prepare all papers for importing to UK. Than you shall contact with UK embassy in Russia and send a request for receiving a Russian licence. There is no limits for non residents for buying hunting weapons in Russia but you shall receive a licence.
If I remember correctly Russian shooters have to have a shotgun licence for 5 years before a fullbore rifle can be held.

The problem with getting a rifle out of Russia would be the sanctions that are in place, if you did get one out of Russia you may not get it into the country this end.If the UK importers can't get rifles in from Russia I can't see a private individual getting one in.

Just only few guys :)

I just tell about the experience with one of my friend from Cyprus. Also I have a client from France who have a permission to buy a hunting rifle in Russia. Both of them at first wrote a request about any limits for importing hunting weapon from Russia. There was no mention of sanction list, Kalashnikov and etc.-, only the requirements to weapon.

I also bet there was no mention of if the uk would let you bring it back, they'll sell you one all day, one that's out the way it's your problem not their's if the UK government refuses to let you have it even if you did pay money for it.

Where you from KyK?.....

UK importers can't get Russian rifles from Russia, the Yanks can't get Russian rifles from Russia,LDT in Luxembourg can't get Russian rifles from Russia so how does an individual get one?.Remember that importers are buying a lot of rifles at a time and spending big bucks.....if there was a way of exporting these rifles then the Russians would as it's not like they'd turn the money down if they could.

I was talking to a gentleman a few days back, who has lot of contacts in Russia, regarding Orsis rifles and he told me he can't get hold of them due to the sanctions and that he couldn't bring them into the country even if he made a private purchase in Russia himself.....and believe me this guy knows what he's talking about.

I also know of a consignment of rifles that had been on order from Izhmash that arrived in the UK just as the sanctions hit and they were refused entry into the UK and were promptly returned.

Would you like akm instead of saiga?
VPO-136 - same price, but you will get a real akm what was made in USSR.

You're on the right track with the VPO-136, a straight pull version would be a welcome substitute as Molot are not on the list.

Welcome Tovarisch,

AKM from the Motherland would be nice, sadly we can have straight pull only no semi-auto.

My Romanian AKM is as close to Soviet as I can get but Dragunov makes up for it :good:

1 touch of welding, or removing of the gas piston will solve this dilemma.

Here is one of my favourite toy from Kalashnikov:
