Not near scruffy enough for a Legion soldier...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I don't know but the difference between the line of sight and bore axis must be measured in feet rather than inches!

I did notice a pack strapped onto to give proper eye relief, I guess the FAMAS wasn't made with optics in mind? Or at least the F1 models weren't?
It looks 1-4x24 in terms of magnification and lens though.

You'r correct . Since, the aimpoint & the French made scrome optics have been issued. So I guess the one on the photo is a private purchase. BTW there is nothing I can see that can ID the chap's unit.

All I can Tell Froggy is it's likely 1-4x24 or similar power, How is the adoption the replacement of the FAMAS going? I know that since they closed the one factory that made ammo the FAMAS liked (Lever Delayed Blowback don't like brass cases I believe) they are in a bit of a hurry to get a replacement (the Beretta is the main contender I believe?).froggy wrote:I guess the FAMAS wasn't made with optics in mind?

Dunno, I think it will be announced at the end of the end ?

End of the end? Is that when a New French Republic emerges and Hollande is in the stocks, with a ball gag and being pelted with rotten fruit and veg?froggy wrote:Dunno, I think it will be announced at the end of the end ?
Is that how they're going to celebrate the announcement of a new rifle?
