Whilst I understand what you're saying pe4king, sadly to the M1 'purist' the appearance of the Erma in .22 and .22 wmr has got so many differences in design detail that it makes it unattractive. I had an Erma .22 lr version years ago and it did have the affect of spurring me on the get a 'real' one albeit in straight pull.

I did have a slot for an M1 on my FAC back in the 80's but then along came the sad events at Hungerford.........

I was lucky to own a very nice commercial Iver Johnson M1 Carbine.
It was my favourite range toy for years & was my first "rifle"

It was also the reason that I started reloading - with the Lee Loader sitting on the concrete garage floor.
Nobel powder & some of the many hundred Norma cases that came with it

I'm glad to read of M1 carbines in use in the UK in any form. They are handy little bullet launchers and surprisingly accurate with good ammunition.


The M1 carbine has a history of honorable service with HM forces and should be enjoyed by riflemen in the UK!

Just picked up another one, a Quality Hardware receiver. Finish is worn but the wood is nice and the bore is perfect. Can't wait to try it at the range this weekend.

Last time I looked ITL had several, I love M1 Carbine and have downloaded it and using lead boolits so I can shoot it indoors.

Lasbrisas please share your load data as I'm hoping to use mine indoors too. I had to sell a couple of rifles and then bought the last M1 from ITL, 1944 Inland, shoots amazingly well out to 300yds and fits in nicely with my WW2 stuff.
