Soft cheek pads for rifles

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

Just recently we have had a few rifles come in with soft cheek pads fitted, the sort that have some elastic on one side to hold half a dozen rounds and a little zipped pocket to put stuff in. My question is what sort of things do people put in the pockets because every single one I have come across is empty other than a small sachet of desiccant.

Just curious :)

Nail files/cotton buds in the pouch and lipstick/mascara in the cartridge loops! Well thats what my wife reckons they are for on her Ruger M77 8-), not that I have seen her use any of the above girly grooming stuff.

I think many dont really want or need a pouch - it just came with the raised cheek pad they needed ?

I have one of those I have never used the pocket or the cartridge loops. Strange. My shooting bag on the other hand is all ways busting at the seams and seems to get heavier every outing.
