SSG...marmite rifle. One of the classics. For me, it belongs in my virtual cabinet. Just too much of a drama queen for me to give it house room.
22-250, excellent choice. 6.5x47 is also worth having a look at.
If you only shoot 50-100 foxes a year with a sensible load...a barrel on a 22-250 is going to last a veeeery long time.
The choice of calibre also depends on what is being shot in the area where you live. Help and advise is always great to get from people you know.

I am off out in a few minutes to wait for a Vixen with an AccInt 6,5x47 and 129 grain Interlocks and I know it will get the job done, next week will be different if things go to plan as I will be shooting a Sako 75 Varmint in 22-250. Yes, I really would prefer a 22-250 for such work over my AI.
