GDK Ammo safes

#1 Post by Gazza »

Do these Chinese gun and ammo safes pass Police inspection?
If my application goes through ok then I'm going to have to get an ammunition safe seeing as my cabinet is pretty much full and have been looking at these GDK ones as they offer a fair saving over a similar Brattonsound.
Looking close up at the GDK cabinets though and its plain to see they are not up to Brattonsound specs so this has made me ask the question, do they pass?

Dunno about GDK ones, but B&Q safes were recommended by Cambridgeshire Firearms Dept.

My FLO recommended B&Q safes to me to store cabinet keys in so the kids wouldnt stumble on them by accident. A quick youtube visit showed how to get into them in 5 seconds 8-)
Seeing as my kids spend a lot of time on youtube I decided against one. :D

i wanted one of those small MOD combination safes for my keys, but have you seen the price of them? I think leaving them in the car is a better idea than b&q safes. putting them in a childproof container or even a high shelf is probably safer than those safes

On further research it appears they are BS rated and guaranteed to pass police inspection. Hmmmm

I stuck a Yale safe on top of the cabinate as extra storage for ammo, cabinate has storage in too.

Not had my visit yet. I'm sure I read on here that this sort of safe was ok for ammo or did I dream it?

take litterally anything that ways more than an apple, twist the unlock handle till it stops, smack the top of the plastic a few times and the handle will pop past the lock

Those are fine for ammo, as far as my FEO was concerned anyhow. That's the setup I had in my old house.
