Although not relevant to this thread - I did sometimes wonder about the few odd guys who would walk around pistol meetings with Camo gear, shoulder holsters and a belt full of magazines; I know you can argue that it's probably the safest place to keep a pistol when you're at the range, but I'm sure, for some, there was an element of "show".

It's about the image of Gung Ho Rambo wannabes that having armed guys in Paramilitary wear displays about shooters to the wider public.

Gawd, I did not realise that wearing my jacket was against NRA rules. Will burn it immediately. Unless you have mis-quoted the NRA rules?

I can be seen in the current NRA Journal shooting whilst wearing a milsurp desert camo jacket, so much for no camo rules. What the rules state is no wearing of "uniform" unless a serving member of HM Forces. To misquote a proverb, one camo jacket doesn't a uniform make.

However members of one shooting discipline believe that wearing bright coloured sporty shirts and shorts while running around blasting at things with high capacity shotguns makes them look less threatening to the general public.

There's an inordinate number of busybodies in the UK shooting community.

You can wear what you like at my clubs. They are private clubs with restricted access and NRA "rules" and regulations are irrelevant.
Quite agree, well said!

Front cover of the current Journal has a smattering of DPM on it, oh and a rather talented lady called Kathryn somewhere under it. Must be bo...cks then that you cant wear whatever works for your budget and does the job.

Indeed.

I was also trying (not very well it seems) to make the point that we have enough problems without setting one group of shooters against another simply because of their clothing.

At my home club the rule is unless you are a serving soldier in uniform, one item of camouflage clothing is fine - but head-to-toe is not.
