There used to be one at the funfair at Southsea back in the 60/70`s.
Its probably what got me into shooting and spending my pocket money-just like now really!

I recall operators having a length of cast iron pipe fastened to the side of a lorry. The guy loaded the rifle and put the muzzle into the end of the pipe. You then fired at a target at the other end of the pipe. Great fun.

I remember those at Barry Island, they looked like Thompsons if I remember right.I pulled the trigger on one that was lying on top of the stall and it emptied the mag tube of steel BBs........the guy that ran the stall was ducked under the counter as I let loose and wasn't best pleased when he got up!!!.My older brother dragged me off sharpish.I was only about 7 at the time.

I remember those too, at Clacton or Walton on the Naze? To win you had to shoot out every bit of a red star on a paper target. No doubt sized so that you could get close and paid again, but not too many winnerssnayperskaya wrote:saddler wrote:Spanish City had full auto's run off compressed air...

Re: Miniature Rifle Clubs and Galleries
So - whats to stop anyone just setting up a miniature rifle range in their garden with .22s (if big enough with a suitable backstop)?

Possibly planning permission....or suchBestDrugDoc wrote:So - whats to stop anyone just setting up a miniature rifle range in their garden with .22s (if big enough with a suitable backstop)?
Other thsn that, nothing.
A tube/pipe range or similar (with "No Danger Area") would be the way to go.
OR
Build one into the back of an LGV wagon
