Are target rifle front sights silver soldered on.

As the title says are target rifle front sights silver soldered on or are they just sweated on. I'm referring to the ring type not a dove tailed version. Like the one in the picture

I don't know what the answer is, but I have a Vostok CM2 that has defied all efforts - short of reverting to an angle grinder - to give up its front sight.

Neither for the ones I have worked on, they are usually held in place with Loctite or similar and some localised heat is usually enough to get them off.

if not loctite, it would be soft-solder. Just needs a tad more heat than loctite.

Hi

just removed similar from a scrap rifle. As StanDeasy says, soft soldered on, so a few minutes with a blow torch and off it popped.
