Re: Out of kilter mauser bolt.
It may be the same as one I had some years ago, a Fultons regulated Czech Mause, in which case, the safety lever at the rear of the bolt doesn't do anything except prevent the bolt from being inserted or removed if it's not in the right position. Try swinging the lever while applying gentle pressure to insert the bolt. I think there's a spring loaded plunger somewhere that has to engage the safety lever. It should click into place.
Failing that, try "stripping a mauser bolt" on youtube. There are a couple of guys showing how it's done.
Hope this helps,
Pete

Cheers Pete I don't think its going to be that simple. The rifle was regulated by Fultons originally. The last time I fired the rifle it was fine it functioned correctly. This time out when I took the rifle out of its bag the bolt would not open. I stripped the action out of the stock removed the magazine box and had a fiddle. The bolt opened and I don't know what caused the problem. I closed and opened the bolt a few times then bagged the gun and put the bolt in my bag for further investigation. When I got home I tried inserting the bolt in the rifle but it would not close at all. The cocking pieces was in the wrong orientation. I mounted the bolt in the vice on my Mill and attempted to turn the safety to the upright position. This is the correct position for dismantling the bolt. I ended up with the cocking piece and the safety catch popping out of the rear of the bolt and the tension on the firing pin let off. So the whole thing is a mess basically. May be one for the scrap bin I'm not sure I have the time or inclination to fix this one. I have a load of computer stuff I want to do and that's much more interesting than bruising my knuckles faffing with this thing. I'm thinking that the bolt problem might be one of the reasons the old Girl was put out to grass.

A bolt is made of many parts.
The knack is knowing how to put the parts together so it don't all go ping instead of bang.
Look at a few YouTube clips & you'll find the answer - or pay Fultons to fix it!

Drop it off with me if you are passing and I will take a look.

Thank you for the offer. I'm busy installing and cloning SSD(solid state drives) and up grading my gaming computer at the moment I'm preparing for the release of the mod/mapping tools for the call of duty modern warfare 3.
Iv got the stairs and landing to decorate to keep her indoors happy. I'll have another look before I chuck it at some time but I'm far to busy at the moment.

Re: Out of kilter mauser bolt.
I had a couple of hours spare this afternoon so I sat down and watched a few YouTube Google thingy's. I was sat at my computer desk when she stuck her head round the door what you faffing with now she said what's this thingy. I patiently explained to her what it was and the problem I had with it knowing she would have no idea what I was talking about. She had a good look while I stared impatiently into space.
She finally handed it back to me and said you just need to release the tension on the spring set the protruding firing pin on some thing solid then jam a screwdriver in the slot to hold the spring. Stick some thing in a vice that will fit in the firing pin hole and push the firing pin up into the action and Ill screw the top off.
The result. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Well done that woman!
We were trying to get a remote screen with multiple inputs for a Night Vision system up and running the other day. Three of us working on it to no avail when the Viking wandered over, moved the NV to a different physical input and it worked, so much easier than us trying to do it through the software

The only COD worth playing was the original on PC.......sniping on Hurtgen became an art form.

Re: Out of kilter mauser bolt.
I have built and released several sniping maps for call of duty 4 and call of duty World at War. I only build sniping maps I don't do run and gun. I don't map for World at war anymore because the sniping servers are all empty. I am still mapping for call of duty 4. I have a project on the go at the moment. The group I belong to have sniping servers running for call of duty 4 and World at War. We also have test servers running our works in progress. Activision stopped releasing mapping modding tools after World at war so the PC gamers lost interest. But Activision have promised to release the mod/mapping tools for the latest offering Black ops 3.
So mappers like my self are gearing up for the release. So I have rebuilt my mapping/gaming rig at great expense the SSD drives alone cost over £350 in preparation for it. The group I belong to have some of the best mappers and scripters in the business. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes and we are ready to go. Our aim is to be the first to have a sniping server up and running with dedicated sniper maps. Ill send you a invite if you want come and shoot me.

Re: Out of kilter mauser bolt.
My PC gaming days are over.....WOT on xbox one has got me hooked!.Sometimes give COD Ghosts a blast but would prefer a snipers only section on there as some of the maps would be good for snipers but too many gun and runners and show-offs that run around and only use a blade.
