Vortex strikefire not working

So I picked up my Lantac Raven today really excited and was messing with the vortex fire strike fitted, and it wouldn't turn off like the push switch wasn't working, then it switched off, and now won't switch back on. I removed the rubber over the switches and tge switches seem to click on and off but it won't work ie I cannot see the red / green dot.
It is really disappointing, any advice would be good.

Before you try anything see if a battery replacement does anything. Otherwise get in touch with Vortex customer care. Their warranties are really good from what I read (I've not had to use mine yet) and will help you out whether the damage was intentional or not.

It was just the battery.

I just got it last night rifle with strike fire etc, and was messing with it, then couldn't switch it off, but the switch had stuck, so removed the rubber a little and sorted the switch out so it clicked again, and couldn't switch it back on. It was really disappointing as I just got the rifle, and thought agh I can't shoot it without the scope.... but got a new battery today.... fitting it and all working fine ( fingers crossed ).

So of to the range next weekend to play!

The same thing happened to me when I bought a rifle. I ended up buying a ton of CR2 batteries, I'm still on the first battery so I think they will expire before they are used!

Lithium batteries are supposed to have a 10 year shelf life, you should be OK for a bit at least.

BamBam I just checked my batteries and they expired May 2015. No wonder I got them so cheap 5 years ago (half price = half life)...

I got 8 CR2032 from the pound shop, 7 years left, for a pound.
