is this the right acope for me?

#1 Post by Hunter87 »

I am thinking of getting a 4-16x50 pmii with single turn turrets to go on my Sako Trg .308 with a 20 moa rail I would like to zero at 100m and dial out to 900/1k Would this scope have enough elevation to get me out that far or is there simply not enough elevation on a single turn. Hope you guys can help me make the right choice.

I only know the cm/klick 4-16 Single turn PMII which has 13,1 mils of elevation and works best when used with a 28 minute (Sorry about the mix of angular measurements) With a 28 minute rail it will be on mechanical zero plus around 0,1mils at 100m and will get you to 1200 yards with your TRG on a warm day. On a cold day the elevation will get you to about 1175 yards.

Would it work with a TRG 21/22 - Yup and rather nicely as well!

How much elevation is built into the turret? With my 308 I have enough elevation to get to 900m with a 20moa rail but I know that my ammo is fairly slow with my 20" barrel.

Is there a particular reason for going for a 4 x 16?
